New Associate Attorney Joins BGS

Barna, Guzy & Steffen LTD. announces the addition of a new associate to our firm. Tyler W. Eubank has joined the firm’s Litigation and Employment Law department. He will be working closely with attorneys practicing in the firm’s growing Litigation/Employment Law area serving existing clients and enhancing the firm’s ability to serve our community. We are happy to welcome Tyler back to BGS as he previously worked in our Litigation/Employment Law department as a law clerk while attending law school. After graduating and receiving his JD, Tyler worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for Honorable Tammi A. Fredrickson. Before attending law school, Tyler spent 6 years living and working in Taiwan as an English Teacher, Intercultural-Manager and Area Trainer. Tyler graduated summa cum laude from Hamline University School of Law in 2015 ranked in the top 10{a0c01d20c42349884e67ff80c137866b0a9fe47aaae8f8a86a605a369ae487c3} of his class. He was on the Dean’s List all semesters and was a Dean’s Summer Fellow in 2013, during which time he also clerked for Honorable Tammi A. Fredrickson. Sunday Liquor Sales in Minnesota

As a Wisconsin to Minnesota transplant over 30 years ago, I am periodically reminded of how unique Wisconsin and its citizens really are when viewed from outside its borders.  One of my law partners recently told me her Scottish husband was in Louisiana, and a local there, on hearing his accent, asked if he was from Wisconsin. Yesterday my mom and dad were eating lunch in the grocery store deli area in Wausau Wisconsin when a group of school kids arrived with their teachers.  Obviously a field trip, the teachers ushered the kids toward the fruit section to explain the different fruits and vegetables.  In the course of the discussion it was apparent that the kids were drifting off to look at the fresh donut section.  After lunch, my mom went back to the car and was waiting for my dad to finish up shopping.  She saw him laughing to himself when he was walking across the parking lot.  When he got back to the car, she asked him what was so funny.  He said the kids were now heading toward the cold beer display and wondered if the liquor store was part of the tour.  My parents decided that the kids must go grocery shopping with their dad. Shareholders at Barna, Guzy & Steffen Hold Annual Meeting and Elections

The law firm of Barna, Guzy & Steffen, Ltd. held its annual meeting March 25, 2017 at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids. The meeting included a gathering of the Board of Directors, a State of the Firm given by William F. Huefner, reports from the Practice Group Managers and elections. The Board of Directors re-elected William F. Huefner as Firm President and Chairman of the Board; Charles M. Seykora was re-elected as Treasurer, and Bradley A. Kletscher was re-elected as Secretary. Adriel B. Villarreal and Tammy J. Schemmel were re-elected for three year terms on the Board of Directors. Re-appointed as Practice Group Managers were Michael F. Hurley (Real Estate/Corporate) and Joan M. Quade (Litigation/Municipal); Adriel B. Villarreal was named Practice Group Manager (Consumer) for his first term. The firm looks forward to a very successful year as it plans to continue efforts to grow and serve the community it has served since 1938.
