The Shareholders of Barna, Guzy & Steffen, Ltd. announce that Angela M. Woessner has been named Shareholder. Angela is a 2003 cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School. She began her career at BGS in 2004 as an associate in the Real Estate department after clerking at the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility. She concentrates her practice on all aspects of commercial real estate, including those related to the acquisition, sale, leasing and development of real estate. In addition to being named Shareholder, Angela was recently recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in the area of Real Estate for the 5th time. Outside of work and work related activities, Angela is Co-Chair of Lanes for Friendship, Highland Friendship Club’s flagship yearly fundraising event, as well as a member of its Development Committee. Highland Friendship Club is a nonprofit association that offers young adults with disabilities the opportunity to take part in activities and classes designed especially for them. Angela is also a board member of the Cretin-Derham Hall High School Alumni Association. Angela and her husband, Shawn, reside in St. Paul with their son, Carter.

The following tips offer a good review of how to avoid heat exhaustion / stroke. Drink plenty of water. It is important to drink fluid, especially if you are out in the sun. Water is your best option. Do not wait until you are thirsty to drink. Avoid beverages with alcohol, caffeine and sugar. They may sound good, but can actually speed up dehydration. Use a fan to circulate the air. Even if you have air conditioning, a fan which keeps the air moving, will let you set the thermostat several degrees higher and still be comfortable.
